THE FIVE and UGA MSP

The Five collaborates with The University of Georgia's office of multicultural services and programs (MSP) to set the bar higher. Designed to foster the professional, personal, and leadership development of students, the programming will position them for success during their time at the institution and beyond.

The Five’s engagement provides them with the opportunity to share their experiences with the students and serve as a resource to make sure all players have the chance to become future leaders of great character and confidence with the clarity to realize their full potential during their years at UGA and afterward.

The MSP Mile S.T.O.N.E.S. (Support, Transformation, Opportunities, Networking, Education, Service) program is a comprehensive initiative offered by the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs. The program aims to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive academically, socially, and personally. Through a series of workshops, seminars, mentoring opportunities, cultural celebrations, and community service projects, MSP Mile S.T.O.N.E.S. will provide students with the resources, skills, and networks they need to succeed.

THE FIVE ARE IN THE GAAME

With a natural desire to pay it forward, The Five have strategically aligned with another University of Georgia program that hits close to their hearts. The Five are excited to announce a collaborative project with GAAME.

GAAME is part of the University System of Georgia’s African-American Male Initiative
(AAMI®). AAMI is a project launched in 2002 by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) focusing on the enrollment, retention, and graduation of African-American Males. Utilizing a holistic approach, GAAME supports African-American male students throughout their matriculation at the University of Georgia.

This approach includes a transition program, academic support services, leadership
development, peer and adult mentoring, grade monitoring, and exposure to a multitude of campus resources. Students interested in the program have several ways to engage: GAAME Weekend, GAAME Scholars & First-Year Fellows, and GAAME Ambassadors.

Similar to The Bulldog Original Five’s mission of “Improv[ing] the chances of lifetime
success…” GAAME also seeks to have an impact on the holistic success of our students.

In particular, our program centers efforts to impact the following four areas:

Georgia Football

GEORGIA FOOTBALL LETTERMEN'S CLUB

The collaborative efforts of The Bulldogs Original Five extend beyond the original members as they lead a strategic initiative to increase UGA’s African American Lettermen’s engagement and representation at all levels of the Georgia Football Lettermen’s Club (GFLC).
